WILMA WRIGHT Indianola Services for Wilma Wright, 93, who passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center, will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 16 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Visitation will be held prior to services starting at 9 a.m. Burial will follow services in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Fonda (Jay) Hess; brother, N.K. (Peg) Rodgers; and sister, Gilda (Dick) Borchert; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, infant son Jerry, brothers Harold and Ed Rodgers and sister Pauline Rudkin Colvin. Wilma was born in Bristol, Tennessee in 1920 to Alta and Carl Rodgers. Her family moved to Iowa when she was six months old. They settled in rural Pleasantville during her childhood years. She was united in marriage to Elmer Wright in 1939 and they lived and farmed in the Milo and Indianola area. Wilma was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, playing cards, and reading. She loved farm life and being outdoors. Her ultimate joy though was being with her family, specifically special occasions, holidays, and family gatherings.
