Visitation for William "Bill" Wright, 78, of Indianola, who passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 at home, will be held 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 19 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Interment will follow visitation in the Leon Cemetery, Leon.

Bill was born in Osceola on September 29th 1946 to David and Lola Wright. He was raised in Woodburn with his 4 brothers. When Bill turned 17 he enlisted in the Navy and served 3 years before coming home and meeting his lovely wife Kathy. From that point on Bill and Kathy moved to Dallas where Bill started working for Continental airlines. They had 2 sons and spent 4 years in California before moving back to Iowa and settling down in Indianola. Bill and Kathy spent many years traveling to places like Hawaii, Punta Cana and took many family vacations. Bill started truck driving in 1985 and over the course of 34 years put in 3 million miles on the road. He retired in 2020 and enjoyed staying home and spending time in his pool.  He loved being around his family and especially fond of his great grandsons William Noah and Evan

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; children, Alan Eugene (Tammy) Wright, Paul D. (Tammie) Wright; grandchildren, Christopher (Brandy) Wright, David W Wright, Paul David Wright, Elizabeth E. Wright, Bruno Wright; great-grandchildren, Evan and Noah, William David Wright; siblings, Dwayne Wright, Sweed (Sue) Wright, Bob (Julia) Wright; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Lola Wright; brother, John Alex Wright; niece Tony Jane Baumfalk.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kiya Koda or Wounded Warrior Project in Bill's memory.
