Graveside services for William "Bill" Sparks, 73, who passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Webb Cemetery.

William Ray Sparks was born April 28, 1943 to Homer L. and Mary E. (Morse) Sparks in Spring Hill, Iowa.

Bill lived a full and happy life. He loved his job in the painter's union and was a Master Craftsman in his trade.

At work and in life he had a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy and happiness to so many people.

He was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He was a radio man among other jobs aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga, which took him to many places and helped make him into the wonderful loving man we all knew and loved.

Bill enjoyed music and had a passion for fishing, hunting and all sports - his favorite being classic cars and the NASCAR races.

Later in life, he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with the love of his life, Jan, in their happy home taking care of one another.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; children, Tammy M. Sparks, John (Mindy) Buckingham; granddaughter, Amanda Buckingham; sister, Edna Shackelford; sister-in-laws, Elma Sparks, Donna Sparks and Jean Sparks. He was preceded in death by his brothers, David, Richard and Gary Sparks.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Rescue League or Webb Cemetery.
