Services for William Marion McKinney, 89, who passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center, will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 8 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, IA.

Marion was born March 16, 1921 in Knoxville.  He graduated from Milo High School and served in the United States Army during WWII.  Marion was united in marriage to Della Easter Daugherty and to this union one daughter, Susan Margaret McKinney, was born.

Marion worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Knoxville retiring after 33 years.  He mowed yards for several years as a separate business.  Marion's hobby was his loving wife Della.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Della McKinney; brother, James E. McKinney of Naples, Fl.; and a sister, Lila Mellott of Gorin, Mo.  He was preceded in death by his daughter and his parents, William Daniel and Clara (Hill) McKinney.
