William E. Graham, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center where he had been a resident for the past eight months. Services will be held Friday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

William was born April 12, 1914, in Canora, Sasketchewan, Canada; at the age of four he moved with his parents and two sisters to Prairie City, Iowa, where he attended school. A retired farmer, he had farmed for 40 years and also did carpenter work and painting. He had resided in Indianola since 1979 and had previously farmed northeast of Indianola for 30 years.

He was united in marriage to Velda Taylor on January 26, 1936.

William is survived by his wife of seventy years, Velda of Indianola; a son Dale (Joyce) Graham of Wilmer, Texas; and a daughter Marlene (Jeff) Lacy of Indianola; his sister, Lillian Johnston of Newton, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 23, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. where family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Martensdale Community Church.
