William "Bill" Geiger, 72, died peacefully November 8, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.  Bill was born on April 24, 1936 in Waterloo, IA.  After moving to Indianola he was the Financial Aid Director at Simpson College for 32 years, before retiring in 2006.  He had a strong interest in politics and had served on the Indianola City Council and Indianola Municipal Utility Board.  He also served on the Board of Directors for the Indianola Chamber of Commerce.  Bill was very active at the First United Methodist Church and chaired the Finance Committee up to the time of his death.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Ellery and Hazel Geiger.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of 45 years; sons, David (Stacey) and Robb (Kris); grandchildren, McKenzie, Chase, Quinn, Camryn and Zoe.

Visitation will be held 3 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11 at Overton Funeral Home where the family will be present from 5 – 8:00 p.m. to greet friends.  Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 12 at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola.  Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
