DR. WILLIAM C. DUNNING Indianola Bill was born in Gloversville, NY on May 30, 1943. He passed away from a sudden heart attack on Sunday, September 22. 2013. No services are planned at this time. Bill graduated with his doctorate in mathematics from Duke University. He taught math and statistics at Drake University in Des Moines before moving to Bellevue, Nebraska where he taught for many years. During his years in Bellevue, he met and married his wife Linda and her children. After that the family moved to Indianola where Bill taught at Simpson College, retiring after 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Dunning; his daughter Kristin (Brian) Simpson and son Clayton Gentile. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Brianne (Shawn) McCoy, Jacklyn Simpson and fiancée Kelly Ruther; two great-granddaughters, Briley and Kenzie McCoy; his sister, Jane Kauffman and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Adaline Dunning and sisters, Sally and MarySue all from New York State. Memorials may be given to Kiya Koda Humane Society of Indianola.
