WILLARD GARRISON Indianola James Willard Garrison was born September 11, 1929 in rural Warren County, Iowa to Wilbur and Vera (Wickett) Garrison and was a 1947 graduate of Liberty Center High School. He married Constance Joan Norris on September 15, 1949 and served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955. Willard was a 65 year member of the American Legion Post #165, 45 year member of the Warren County Engineer's Office, member of Warren Lodge #53 AF&AM, Post Patron of Eastern Star, member of the Milo Lion's Club and Green Plain United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, bowling, working with wood and spending time with his family. Willard loved people and his community. He died Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 29 days. Willard is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Kathy (John) Pilmer, Dave (Kim) Garrison and Jodi (Ken) Clary; grandchildren, Josh Garrison, Joey Pilmer, Jenna (Matt) Tharp, Katie Garrison, Kasey Clary, Mitchell Garrison and Mikayla Clary; and sister, Maurine Streeter. Preceding in death are his parents, Wilbur and Vera (Wickett) Garrison; infant son, Robert Craig Garrison; three brothers; and one sister.
