Obituary

Services for Wilbur "Glen" Seward, 72, who died Thursday, January 12, 2006 in Thornton, CO., will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 19 at the Winterset Church of the Nazarene in Winterset, IA. Burial with military rites will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery, St. Charles, Iowa.

Glen was born in Peru, Iowa, and graduated from Winterset High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant preparing pilots in the air and in the class room for service in the Korean War. He was united in marriage during his service time to Marjorie Gamble of St. Charles, IA.

He had lived in Indianapolis, IN working as an air traffic controller. Upon leaving Indianapolis he returned to Iowa working for Iowa Beef and then returned to government work as a Revenue Officer and retired from the United States Treasury Department after 35 years while living in Colorado. He was a charter member of the Cottonwood Lakes Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie of Northglenn, CO; sons, Rev. Michael (Debbie) Seward of Kimberly, ID, Jeff (Melanie) Seward of Nampa, ID, Doug Seward of Northglenn, CO, and Kevin Seward of St. Charles, IA; nine grandchildren; brothers, Loren (Suzie) Seward of Suisan City, CA, and Harold (Kay) Seward and a sister Janice Halterman all of Winterset. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Velma McKeever.

Visitation with the family present will be held 6 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.
