Wanda was born in Clarke County and had lived in rural New Virginia for over 60 years.

She is survived by her sons, Floyd of Redwood City, CA and Melvin of Osceola; sister, Jane Baker of West Des Moines; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sargent in 2001; infant sons, Dennis and Ricky Sargent; and one daughter, Doneta Sargent.

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 28 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present.    Memorials may be given to the Shriner's Hospital.
