Funeral services for Walter Gail Williams, 90, who passed away Friday, December 25, 2020, will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  The visitation will be held one hour prior to services.

Walter was born August 27, 1930 in Green Castle, Mo.  On September 6, 1951, he entered into service in the United State Marines and was honorably discharged September 5, 1953.  On April 25, 1961 he was united in marriage to Janet Elgean Vinsel.  They had one daughter Brenda.

Walter worked as a farm hand near Zearing, IA. where he met his wife and then they moved to Des Moines before moving Indianola continuing to work on farms outside of Indianola.  He enjoyed auctions and regularly attended the V.F.W.  He also was a regular coffee drinker at the old Hy-Vee store and was a John Deere man.  He enjoyed eating out at Winn's and Crouse Café in Indianola

Walter is survived by sisters-in-laws, Judy Firestine and Debbie Vinsel; several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, George and Deb Guiles.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Williams; daughter, Brenda Williams, parents and eleven brothers and sisters.
