Dr. Brantley served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of COMS in 1970 and earned his medical degree. He practiced internal medicine at Des Moines General Hospital and Wilden Clinic in Des Moines retiring in 1991. He then spent his later years taking care of his farm.
He is survived by his wife, Joann; children, Diane (Richard) Russo, Candi Slusser, Wade C. (Susan) Brantley, Timothy (Naomi) Brantley, James "Cricket" (Mary) Brantley, Tim (Nicole) Kellen and Ted Kellen; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 4 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 17 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Educational Fund at Des Moines University.Visits: 0
