Virgle was born in Warren County to John Clinton and Elsie L. (Williams) Beck on July 12, 1919. He was married to Adelaide Mae Wise of Madison County on March 16, 1939. To this union were born several children: Virginia Lovstad, Merrill, Dorothy Iverson (deceased), Carolyn (deceased), Marilyn Benge, Donna Moose, and Donald.

Virgle and Adelaide lived most of their life in Warren County. Virgle was a farmer and operated road construction equipment. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 234 for over 55 years.

In addition to his wife and children, Virgle is survived by 13 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday April 18 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Monday. Memorials can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale.
