Virginia Mae Ginder was born March 28, 1921 in Des Moines, IA to James William and Borghild (Anderson) Wheeler. She died November 3, 2014 in Indianola, IA at The Village at the age of 93. On August 12, 1939 she was united in marriage to the boy next door, Charles Ervin Ginder and to this union two daughters were born. Together they shared sixty-three years of marriage before Charles passed away in 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Billy Wheeler, grandson James David Trissel and husband Charles Ervin Ginder. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra (Jerry) Mericle of Des Moines, Pamela (John Darby) Ginder-Darby of Climax Springs, MO; grandchildren, Sherry (Willie) Sears, Dean Johnson, Dennis (Lori) Johnson and Craig (Amelia) Johnson; six great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Virginia lived most of her life in the Des Moines area before moving to Indianola in the early 1990's. She had worked for Whitaker Pharmacy, Dr. Robert Updegraff and The Principal and was a past member of Tri T of Indianola. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 8 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with visitation to be held one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Polk County. Memorials may be made to The Village Good Shepherd Fund in Indianola.
