Services for Virgil G. Moorman, 90, who died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at home, will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, June 26 at the First Baptist Church in Indianola of which he was a member.  Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Leon Cemetery, Leon, IA.

Virgil retired from Firestone in Des Moines and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and also raised Quarter Horses.  He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post # 165 in Indianola.

Survivors include his children, Virginia (Jim) Still and Bill (Mary) Moorman of Indianola and Dr. Donald Moorman of Wexford, PA; brother, Archie Moorman of Winterset, four grandchildren, Becky (Gearold) McElwee, Eric (Cindy) Moorman, Kris Moorman and Dr. Daniel (Wendy) Still; five great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Moorman and an infant son, James Moorman.

Visitation will be held 4 – 8 p.m. Friday, June 25 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 6 – 8 p.m. to greet friends.  Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church or the American Legion Post # 165 in Indianola.
