VERN REETZ

A Celebration of Life Service for Vern Reetz, 62, of Indianola, who passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at home, will be held 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 12 at the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Indianola. Visitation will be held Tuesday, prior to services, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the church.

Vernon Michael Reetz was born June 24, 1955 to Otto and Alice (Tapper) Reetz in Lincoln, Nebraska. He passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at home, in Indianola, Iowa, at the age of 62 years.

Vern was the #1 fan of all his grandsons baseball teams. He enjoyed fishing, playing Canasta and most importantly loved spending time with all four of his grandkids. He loved doing for others and we were blessed to have him as a husband, father and grandpa. Vern also enjoyed music and loved to sing. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, as he was an avid sports fan. No one cheered louder. Above all, Vern would want you to know he loved the Lord with all his heart.

He is survived by his wife Leona; children, Debra (Josh) Williams and Mike Reetz; grandchildren, Camron Williams, Haley Reetz, Caleb Williams and Carson Williams; siblings, Dean (Georgia) and Gary (Sandy) Reetz and Jan (Mike) Miller.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Alice Reetz and sister, Debbie Reetz.

Memorials may be given to Grace Evangelical Free Church in Indianola.
