Vera May Flinn, 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, Iowa. Vera was born in Adel, Iowa on November 10, 1928 to Vernon and Irene Brubaker. She married Lewis Raymond Flinn on August 23, 1947. Lewis and Vera were married almost 53 years before Lewis passed away on August 22, 2000. Vera loved to read, garden, enjoyed flowers and was an avid bird watcher. She also loved to crochet and sew, making many afghans and Easter dresses over the years. Vera is survived by her children; Ellen Rinard; Karen Watters; Glennys Cameron (Darrell); Joyce Flinn; Susan Miller; Pat Flinn (Laura) and Fred Flinn, as well as 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Flinn and Lela Grubbs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis, children Alan and Elizabeth, son-in-law Ron Rinard, sibling Bill Brubaker and great-grandchildren Michael Offringa and Justyce Cameron. Visitation will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 29 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 30 at Overton Funeral Home with burial following at Jordan Cemetery in West Des Moines, Iowa.
