Born in Washington, Iowa, Una had been a resident of The Village in Indianola for the past five years, previously living in Fairfield, Iowa, for fifty years. She was a 1928 graduate of Washington High School and of Parsons College. Una was a retired elementary teacher and had taught in Henry and Jefferson Counties for over thirty years. She is a lifetime member of the Iowa State Education Association, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Fairfield, TTT, the Fairfield Women's Club, Daughters of American Colonists, and Fairfield Genealogy Society.
Surviving are her husband Cloyd of Indianola; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Sue Cornick of Des Moines; five grandsons; 7 great-grandchildren; and 15 nieces and nephews.
Una was preceded in death by her daughter, Josephine Mottet; his parents, a brother, Fredric Smith; and two sisters, Esther Poats and Jean Smith.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Fund at The Village.
