Twila (Liggett) Palmer died June 21, 2009 at Westview Care Center in Indianola.  She was born Feb. 18, 1935 and grew up in Wayne County, IA.  Twila and her husband of 55 years, R. Jarold (Jerry) Palmer, who precedes her in death, lived and worked in the Des Moines area for most of their married lives.  Also preceding her death were her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include three children:  Bradley (Edie) of Bullhead City, AZ, Jana Tanner (David) of Ackworth, IA, and Brian (Barb) of Liberty Center, IA; grandchildren, Mathew and Alicia Palmer of AZ, Katie and Jennifer Tanner of IA, and Zachary and Charlie Palmer of IA; step grandchild, Ken Schmidt (Angelina) of AZ, one great grandchild, Veronica Schmidt also of AZ; sisters, Velma Gibbs of Corydon, Opal Longley of Chariton; Roxanna Petty of Lineville, Coy Davis (Bill) of Altoona, IA, and brother, Dwight Liggett (MaryAnn) of Urbandale as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola Wed., June 24 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 to 8:00.  Funeral services are Thurs., June 25 at 1:00 p.m., First United Methodist Church in Indianola. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
