TREVA M. STANFORD

Treva M. Stanford, 82, passed away peacefully Friday, November 24, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 2 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, IA, with visitation held two hours prior from 9 to 11 a.m.

Treva was born to Tolbert and Ruth Adair in Leon, IA. She was the second youngest child of twelve. She met and fell in love with Willis Stanford at the age of thirteen. They married in April of 1952 and eventually moved to Des Moines to raise six children together.

Treva was a very loving and caring woman, devoting thirty-two years of her life taking care of others at Riverview Care Center, where she retired from in 1998.

Treva is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Carolyn Beck and son Steve Stanford. Survivors include her son, David (Lynda) Stanford of Indianola; daughters, Janet (Steve) Clark, Jan Stanford and Lisa (Dave) Poling all of Des Moines; son-in-law, Kenny Beck of Des Moines; daughter-in-law, Roberta Stanford of Leon; 15 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Baughman of Leon.
