Thomasine was born September 10, 1926 to Mary Lickteig Gallagher and Thomas Gallagher. She was raised near Bevington, IA and graduated from Martensdale High School. She married James Durham on June 3, 1955 and to this union a son, Donald James, was born.

Thomasine had a quick wit and compassionate heart, she was a care giver and helped nearly every family member and many friends in times of need. She was a hard worker that farmed, raised turkeys and worked as a real estate agent. She and Jimmy enjoyed flying in his private plane.

Thomasine was a devoted Catholic and was a member of the Church of Assumption in Churchville, IA where she was married. Later she, Jimmy and Don were members of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola, IA.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Quendy Sweeney; grandson, Hunter Durham; and many nieces and nephews, including her special care takers Don and Mary Belle Hill. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, grandson Cole Durham, and seven siblings.  Memorials may be given to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola.
