TERESA D. PURDY Indianola Memorial services for Teresa D (Oxenreider) Purdy wife, mother, sister, and friend, who passed away Monday September 3, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa, will be held 2 p.m., Friday, September 7 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Teresa was born on September 26, 1947 to CJ (Jim) and Esta Oxenreider in Indianola, Iowa. She graduated high school in Crete, Nebraska in 1966, was united in marriage to Doug Purdy on December 10, 1967 and had a son Jeff and a daughter Jodi. Teresa worked as a payroll specialist for Mercy Hospital until 2007 and prior to that worked as an office manager for Godwin Brothers in Indianola. Teresa is survived by her husband, Doug; son, Jeff (Pam Dougherty); daughter, Jodi Sydnes (Doug); and two grandchildren, Troy Gritts (Tess) and Alex Sydnes. She is also survived by sisters, Judy Barrington and Sharon Berkenbosch (Dick); sisters-in-law, Joanne Oxenreider and Diane Champ (Bruce); and brother-in-law, Pat Purdy (Sue). Also many nieces and nephews. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dennis. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or Mercy Hospice, Johnston, Iowa.
