Ted was born in Indianola and had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He received the Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Combat Infantry Man's Badge and the Presidential Unit Citation. Following his discharge he was a heavy equipment operator for Central Paving, Lesters, and had retired from McAninch. He enjoyed horse racing at Prairie Meadows, dog racing, playing cards, and watching pro football and NASCAR.
He is survived by his children, Roland (Rose) Knouse, Peggy (Ron) Chambers and Mike (Lori) Knouse all of Indianola; 6 grandchildren; brother, Roger Knouse of Kingwood, TX; sisters, Joyce Barg of Ruthven, Sherry Zenor of Winterset and June Wood of Indianola; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom Knouse.
