SUZANNE JO MILLER Indianola Memorial services for Suzanne Jo Miller, 80, who passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Westview Care Center in Indianola, will be held 11 a.m., Monday, June 16 at Smith's Chapel on Simpson College Campus in Indianola. Visitation will be held at Smith's Chapel prior to services starting at 9:30 a.m. Suzanne was born May 6, 1934 to Bill and Becky (Kluber) Bowles and graduated from Indianola High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Jim Miller on April 1, 1954 and to this marriage was born two sons, Mark and Rob. Suzanne lived all of her life in Indianola with the exception of three years when Jim served in the United States Navy. Suzanne worked for the Indianola Peoples Trust and Saving Bank in the early 1950's and then for Simpson College as the Human Resource's Director for 28 years. She was very proud that both of her boys graduated from Simpson. Suzanne was active in the Simpson Guild, PEO Chapter NG, Warren County Child Abuse Prevention Council and the Education Committee of the Chamber of Commerce. She also volunteered to read weekly with Whittier 4th grade students and work weekly in the office at the First United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Survivors include her sons, Mark (Anne) and Rob (Julie) Miller; grandchildren, Jessica, Alex, Will and Ben Miller; and sister, Kay (Joe) Peck. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Becky Bowles and husband, Jim Miller. Memorials may be given in her name to Simpson College or Warren County Child Abuse Prevention Council.
