SUSIE YOUNG Indianola Memorial services for Susie Young, 84, who passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Indianola will be held 11 a.m., Monday, July 21 at the Center Chapel United Methodist Church in Indianola. Susie Ilene Young was born March 6, 1930 in Patterson, IA to Ernest and Hallie (Cue) Keeney. On April 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to Dean Young at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. To this union three children, Robert, Bruce and Brenda were born. Susie and Dean farmed near Milo until moving to Indianola in 1980 where Susie then worked for Farm Bureau Insurance until her retirement. Survivors include her children, Robert (Becky) Young, Bruce (Lynnea) Young and Brenda (Ron) Thompson; grandchildren, Angela (Christian) Wells, Lisa (Brian Amidon) Young, Diana (Cameron) Ozburn, Neal (Krissy) Young, Nate (Brianna) Young, Wade Young, Lindsay Young, Brent Pace, Janiece (Ruud) de Jonge, Jim Thompson and Joe (Monica) Thompson; and eleven great-grandchildren . She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Young and one grandson, Philip Young. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with family present. Memorials may be given in Susie's name to Center Chapel United Methodist Church, Milo Lion's Club for the walking bike trail or Hospice of Central Iowa.
