Susanne was born near Summerset on January 16, 1949 to Don and Hazel (Houghton) McGuire. She graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1967. She had lived most of her life in Norwalk. Susanne was the Store Manager for Casey's in Norwalk. She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, fishing and spending time with her family and her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, George of Cumming; daughters, Dawn Ray of Cumming, Amy (Elek) Richmond of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Deven Taylor and Elek and Heath Richmond; sisters, Beverly Johnson of Earlham and Sharry McGuire of Newton; nephew, Jeff Johnson and niece, Stephanie Schaffer.

Memorials may be given Hospice of Central Iowa.
