Services for Sue Tipton, 88, of Indianola, who passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at The Village, will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery, Liberty Center, IA.

Sue was born October 21, 1932 in Carlisle, IA to Oscar Earl and Mildred Phyllis (Nicholson) Nicoson.  She graduated from Carlisle High School.  Sue loved sports and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing, bird watching, cooking, volunteering at the Liberty Center United Methodist Church and her grandchildren.  She worked as a Dental Assistant and loved the farm.  She was united in marriage to Howard Tipton on January 31, 1975.  They had lived on the farm west of Liberty Center until moving to Indianola and then to The Village.

She is survived by her children, Terri (Kent) DeBerg, Steve (Mary) Stone, Connie Renger, Cathy Konrad and Carol Nash; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Tipton in 2013; her parents, Oscar and Mildred (Nicholson) Nicoson; several siblings; sons-in-law, James Konrad, Jay Renger, Dan Nash and great granddaughter, Carly Rose Shelton.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.  Monday, July 5, 2021 at Overton Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to the Good Shepherd Fund at The Village.
