Memorial services for Steven Lee Sargent, 56, who died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO, will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Steven was cremated and burial of cremains will be held at a later date in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Steven was born in Des Moines and graduated from S.E.W. High School in Liberty Center in 1970. He drove truck for Frank Sloan Hawkeye Wood Shaving Co. of Des Moines, Gary Junkins Corp in Oskaloosa and most recently for Don Hummer Trucking Co. in Oxford, IA.

He is survived by his siblings, James (Sarah) Sargent of Indianola, John (Linda) Sargent of Ankeny, Glenn Sargent of Van Meter, Charles Sargent and Gladys (Ron) Barnes of Indianola. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Wilma Sargent and one brother David Sargent.

Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Knoxville Raceway.
