Stanley Robert Van Veen, 72, of Indianola, IA, passed away on April 13, 2020 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA.

There will not be a formal funeral service, but there may be an informal gathering at a later time.  Arrangements are by Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Stan was born in Pella, Iowa to Ted and Viola Van Veen on November 11, 1947.  He married Donna DeWild, and their daughter Stacy was born in 1974.  He married Ann Marie Fitzgerald on September 1, 1984 at Ann's parents' home near Adel, and their son TJ was born in 1987.  He worked as a computer programmer for many years.  He was a veteran of the US Navy.  He enjoyed time with family, watching Iowa Hawkeye and Baltimore Ravens football, figure 8 and motocross racing, and enjoyed many fun Friday lunches followed by afternoons of cutthroat dominoes games with his sisters and son.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry Van Veen, and brother-in-law Larry Morgan.

Stan is survived by his wife, Ann, children Stacy (Jay) Stephens and TJ Van Veen, sisters Shirley Morgan and Melvina (Vern) Breuklander, grandchildren Danny Stephens and Chase Stephens, great-granddaughter Sage, and many loved nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to Whiskers TNR of Warren County.
