STANLEY F. NIEMEYER Indianola A Memorial visitation for Stanley F. Niemeyer, 88, who passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 in Des Moines, will be held 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 12 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Stan served in the United States Navy as a Seabee during WW II. He attended Iowa State University and for many years flew planes for the Des Moines Flying Service. Stan retired from Ruan Corporation as a leasing manager after 25 years. Stan and Ann retired to their home at Lake of the Ozarks in 1988 and spent many wonderful years on the lake. They moved to Indianola in 2006 living in a townhome on the Indianola Country Club watching golfers on Hole #10. He is survived by his wife, Ann; children, Jerry (Sandy) Niemeyer of Ackworth, GA, Judy Niemeyer of Independence, MO and Jeffrey (Merilee) Niemeyer of Des Moines; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) McGrew, James (Kristen) Niemeyer, Catlin Niemeyer, Ryan (Melissa) Niemeyer and Erin Niemeyer. He is also survived by step-children, Carolyn (Joe) Vanderpool and Steve (Jerri) Hoover; step-grandchildren, Dan Vanderpool, Gail Brecht, Steve Hoover Jr. and Michael Hoover; and 15 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
