SHIRLEY KEENEY

Graveside services for Shirley June Keeney, 82, who passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, in Des Moines, will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, May 13, in the Wallace Cemetery, Wick, IA.  The family will be present from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the cemetery.

Shirley was born on June 2, 1935 in rural Warren County near St. Charles, IA in her grandmother's house and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1953.  She was married in 1973 to Robert Keeney.  Shirley was a homemaker and had also worked for Blue Cross & Blue Shield in Des Moines, the USDA and also for General Coach Manufacturing.  She enjoyed her family, the outdoors, raising livestock, bird watching, Saturday night Gospel Music Shows and chocolate malts.

She is survived by her children, Cindy (Phil) Gray, of Norwalk, Victor (Charlotte) Ayers of Carlisle, and Ryan (Heather) Keeney of Prole; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Ayers; six grandchildren, Gabriel Ayers, Dustin (Ashley) Gray, Miranda Ayers, Krey Keeney, Mallory (Will) Tollefson, and Kristen Keeney; two great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her husband Robert Keeney, son Greg Ayers and daughter Julie Ayers.

Memorials may be given in her name to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
