Shirley May Hinerman, 85, of Indianola, Iowa, passed on Monday, November 20 at home. Visitation will be held 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Inurnment will follow visitation in the Lincoln Cemetery, Knoxville.

Shirley was deeply involved in her community, particularly in her church, where she actively contributed to various activities. Her commitment to Sunday school, leadership in Vacation Bible School, involvement in Christian education, and participation in missionary outreach activities reflected a strong dedication to her faith and community.

In addition to her contributions to the church, Shirley had a creative side, operating her own business in cake decorating from home. Specializing in both birthday and wedding cakes, she had a talent for making celebrations extra special. Her skills extended to sewing bridal gowns, really anything to do with weddings, as well as creating bridal flowers.

She is survived by her children, Elaine (Duane) Seuferer, Dwight (Mandy) Hinerman, Lyndon (Tara) Hinerman, Lenore (Stephen) Archambo; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and brother-in-law, Gary Hinerman. She is preceded in death by her husband Dwaine; son, Kelvin; parents, Clarence and Marion Howard; brother, Raymond Howard; sisters, Jean Howard and Therese Hinerman.
