Graveside services for Shirley Mae Alexander, 88, who passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020, in the Webb Cemetery, rural Norwalk.

Shirley was born December 8, 1931, in Webster City, IA to Herman and Velma Rethman.  They moved to the Norwalk area when she was a young girl and graduated from Spring Hill School in 1950.

She was united in marriage to Gail Alexander at SpringBrook State Park.  They farmed for 50 years near Norwalk.  In 1999 they retired and moved to Martensdale, IA.  In her later years one of her favorite pastimes was going to the gambling casinos and of course her family.  She had lived in Norwalk since 2016.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gail, and grandson Jason Cumings.  She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Cumings; sons, Greg (Karen) Alexander and Doug (Karen) Alexander; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
