Funeral services for Sharon Louise Kooyman, 84, of Altoona, Iowa, who passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 in Ankeny, will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in the Palmyra Cemetery, Palmyra, Iowa.

Sharon is survived by her children, Brian (Kathy) Kooyman, Becky (Mike) Parre, Kevin Kooyman; grandchildren, Mike Kooyman, Aaron (Dani) Parre, Brandon Meyer, Kristina (Jamie) Howard, Austin Kooyman; great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Carter and Drake Howard; close companion, Jim Appleget; siblings, Sonnie Loomis, Sue (Bill) Snook, Don Smith, Doug Smith, Deb (Bruce) Horton; sister-in-law, Bridget Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Kooyman; parents, Paul and Maxine Smith and brother Dennis Smith.

Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Mitchellville Lions Club or Altoona Fire Department.
