Mrs. Cooley was born in Warren County, Iowa and graduated from Indianola High School in 1961. She lived in Indianola all of her life. She had worked for the Iowa Parcel Service for 12 years before becoming manager at the Pamida Store in Indianola for 18 years. She had also worked for the Apple Tree Inn in housekeeping for 12 years as well as being a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Ed "Roy" Cooley of Indianola; daughters, Deb Cooley of Indianola and Donna Jones of Des Moines; brothers, Harold Cashman of Des Moines and Leonard Cashman of Tampa, FL; sisters, Harriet Labertew of Urbandale and Dorothy Walters of Anaheim, CA; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Visitation will be held 3:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 4 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. to greet friends. Memorials may be designated to the American Legion Auxiliary Post #165 of Indianola.
