Sarah was diagnosed with lung cancer in June of this year and lost her courageous battle on Wednesday, December 8, 2010. She passed away in the early morning hours at her parents' home in Indianola, surrounded by family. Sarah was born on September 6, 1980 in Des Moines, IA. She grew up in Carlisle and graduated from Carlisle High School in 1999. She received her Associates Degree from DMACC and worked for the Iowa Cubs, as well as Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. She moved to Denver, CO in 2008 to take a position as an accountant at CLC Associates, a landscaping architectural firm. Sarah enjoyed shopping, Iowa Hawkeye football and snuggling up to her Yorkshire Terrier, Roxy. Sarah was a charismatic, fun-loving woman, who cared very much about others around her, particularly her extended family and friends. Sarah is survived by her parents, Chris and Molly Schneider (Indianola), brother and sister-in-law, Ian and Maria Schneider (Ames), sister, Emily Schneider (Cedar Rapids) and paternal grandmother, Louise Schneider (Indianola). Sarah is also survived by her "beauty party" partner, niece Sophia (daughter of Ian and Maria) as well as a large extended family, including aunts, uncles and cousins. Sarah's wake will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola, Iowa on Friday, December 10th from 5 to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30. Her funeral mass will be held at the same location on Saturday, December 11th at 11a.m. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She will be laid to rest in Pleasantville Cemetery next to her maternal grandparents.
