Memorial services to honor the memory of Sara Wycoff Saunders, 78, of Davenport, IA, who passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, will be held 1:30 p.m., July 17, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, IA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Sara was born on December 11, 1942, to J. Earle and Margaret (Andrew) Wycoff in Des Moines, IA. She graduated with the first class from Bishop Clarkson School of Nursing in Omaha, NE, and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from St. Ambrose College. In 1977, Sara began working as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital and later with Genesis Medical Center, retiring in 2007, after 30 years of service.

Sara was known to be one of the kindest and truest friends you could have. She was a devoted, loving mother to her children. Sara loved gardening, birds, and spent time volunteering at Ridgecrest Village Oakwood Place. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her sister and going on cruises.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Brian.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Susan Saunders of Davenport, IA; son, Lance (Faith) Saunders of Lacey, WA; granddaughter, Sabrina Cooper of Bend, OR; and sister, Maryann Wycoff of Shoreview, MN; along with many cousins and special friends that became family.
