Sami Hidri, 59, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 1, 2021. Sami was born on January 24th, 1962, in Rodokal, Albania to Barjam and Sanije Hidri. He met his beloved wife Liljana, while they attended college in Tirana, and they married in 1988.

After completing college and serving in the Albanian military, Sami began an entrepreneurial career in Albania. He aspired to be a writer or a journalist and continued his passion for writing throughout his life. Sami and Liljana started their family in Pogradec, Albania, and shortly after the birth of their second son, moved their family to the United States in 1999. Sami and Liljana worked hard to create the life they wanted while maintaining strong ties to their Albanian roots. They frequently hosted gatherings with Albanian friends and relatives in the area and returned to Albania to visit family every few years. Sami loved traveling to see the world and walking to enjoy time in nature.

Sami is survived by his wife, Liljana; sons, Endri (Jorie) and Kosta; granddaughter, Iris; siblings Guria, Fidania, Xhemilia, Meritan; many nieces and nephews, and extended family and very dear friends. Sami was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Musa.
