He was born in Westover, SD and graduated from Chariton High School. He was an over the road trucker for over 45 years and a member of the Teamsters Union in Des Moines. He enjoyed working on antique cars, dancing and following Maurice Goode's band.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; grandson, Lucas Justin Pfaff; and two brothers, Kenneth and Jack Pfaff. Survivors include his sons, Scotty (Shirley) Pfaff of Golden, CO, Galen Pfaff of New Braunfels, TX, Melvin Pfaff of Cottonwood, AZ, Marlon Pfaff of Las Vegas, NV, Steve (Denise) Pfaff of Indianola and Charles (Belinda) Pfaff of Lakewood, CO; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 4 – 8 p.m., Monday, October 22 at Overton Funeral Home where family will greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the family in his name.
