Born in Missouri, Ruby had lived in Indianola since 1972.  She worked with the Head Start children's program and was a daycare provider.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, bird watching and family.

She is survived by her husband, John; sons, Don Anderson of Allen, TX and Bill Anderson of Indianola; daughters, Beverly Anderson of Grinnell, Brenda Yando and Glenda Leffler of Ozark, MO, and Johnette Blackman of Indianola; brother, Melvin Smith of Reed Springs, MO; half sister, Barbara Smith of Springfield, MO; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
