Royce Thompson, 73, died Saturday, April 23, 2022 at home.

Royce was born February 22, 1949 to Rufus and Mabel (Ingibritson) Thompson in Buffalo Center, IA.  He graduated from Elmore (MN) High School and attended Luther College in Decorah IA.  Following careers in law enforcement and EMS, he returned to school and graduated from Control Data Institute in Minneapolis, MN.  He spent the next 21 years working as a copier service technician, retiring in 2005.

Royce married Susan Siekmann on May 22, 1971.  They had one daughter, Beth, who lives in Indianola.

Royce and Susan retired to a small acreage, where they maintained a large vegetable garden, restored prairie and flowerbeds.  When not working in their yard, Royce enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Royce is survived by his wife and daughter.   He is also survived by three sisters, Darlene (Richard) Block, Marilyn (Kenneth) Balvance, and Janet (Maynard) Spitazack and by many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianola.  The family will greet friends prior to services from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
