Roy M. McKnight, born February 14, 1913, of Indianola, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial at the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4 – 8 p.m., Thursday, December 8 at the funeral home where family will be present to greet friends from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Roy was born in Clarke County, Iowa, but was a life-long resident of Warren County. He retired from Armstrong Tire in 1975, enjoyed antiquing, woodworking, camping and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Alta whom he married April 15, 1940; sons, Ronald (Carol) and Bob (Sharron) McKnight of Indianola; grandchildren, Jim (Kelly) McKnight of Winterset, Rod (Lisa) McKnight of Logan, Rhonda (Rob) Harban of Indianola and Michelle (Eric) Kellar of Pella; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl McKnight of Boone, Jim McKnight of Ankeny and Larry McKnight of Carlisle; and sister, Carol Morrison of Chariton.

Memorial contributions may be given to Chapel of Faith Church, Indianola, where he has been a member for many years.
