Rosalyce "Rose" Hazel Noonan, 72, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in Des Moines at UnityPoint Lutheran Hospital.
Rose was born on June 26, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa. For her first few years of life, she grew up on a large farm in Waterbury, Nebraska. She loved riding the horses and caring for their livestock.
Once Rose was old enough to attend school, her family moved to the cities (Sioux City area). She graduated from Westwood High School in the spring of 1973.
After high school, she did a lot of traveling and ended up in New Mexico where she met the father of her child, Alfonso Vigil. She had her daughter, Jennifer Bauler (Noonan), in October of 1980.
While raising Jennifer as a single parent, working various jobs including running her own bird business, Noonan's Nest, she attended Minnesota Metropolitan State University and graduated in the spring of 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Natural/Environmental Sciences and an Associate Degree in Environmental Chemical Technology.
She moved to Carlisle, Iowa in the early 2000s to be closer to her daughter and her two granddaughters.
Rosalyce was known by most of her family as "Sissy".
Rose is survived by her granddaughters, Chloe Bauler and Cayle Bauler; sister, Peggy Slater, nieces and nephews, Rich, Brad, Cheri, Dan, and Jason, and close friends, Cathy Robison and Julie Metzger. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Bauler; sister, Iva Kay Forsling, and parents, Kathryn Noonan and George E. Noonan.
