Obituary

Rosalie Marie Primrose, 84, of Des Moines, Iowa, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with private family burial following at the Indianola IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Rosalie lived a life rooted in unwavering faith and a deep love for the Lord. She faithfully served her church, leading the worship team and using her God-given gift of music to glorify Him. A gifted piano player who played by ear, she also shared her talents by teaching piano lessons, blessing many through music.

Her heart for ministry was evident in all she did. In the 1970s, she founded “Christians Alone,” a Christian Support group in Indianola, creating a space for fellowship, encouragement, and connection for others seeking Christ-centered relationships.

Rosalie found joy in praising the Lord through gospel music, especially the Gaither’s, and attended many concerts over the years. She also expressed her creativity through stained glass, enjoyed bowling as part of a league, and connected with others through her Mary Kay business.

Above all, Rosalie’s life was a testimony of faith, love, and service. She walked closely with the Lord and leaves behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, and grace that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Rosalie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Cindy (Merv) Alcorn, Jennifer (Greg) Lemon, and James (Amy) Lofflin; her seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. Her family was a precious blessing to her, and she especially treasured her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Primrose; her parents, Clarence and Zora Rose Canine; and her infant sister, Patricia.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
