RONALD J. SNYDER Indianola Memorial services Ronald J. Snyder, 70, who passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, will be held 11 a.m., Monday, January 19 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola with visitation prior to services from 9 to 11 a.m. Ron worked for Central Paving from 1966 to 1991 and then Shipley Contracting of Burlington, Iowa from 1992 to 2013 which at that time he retired. Ron enjoyed hot air ballooning and was the crew chief of the family balloon. He enjoyed woodworking and spent lots of time building projects with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Indianola Jaycee's for several years and served as President for one year. He was a Boy Scout leader with Troop 135 and especially enjoyed the winter camping trips. Ronald is survived by his wife, Esther; children, Randy (Chris) Snyder, Steve (Carol) Snyder and Kim (Dana Olmstead) Snyder; sisters, Vicki (Mike) Bowers and Julie (Tony) Nilles; sister-in-law, Patti Snyder; and grandchildren, Alicia, Tristin and Trenten. Preceding him in death were his parents John and Mary (Faber) Snyder and brothers Keith and David Snyder. Memorials may be given in Ron's name to National Balloon Classic, WeLift Job Search or Indianola Elks Lodge.
