Services for Ronald Roy McKnight, 82, of Indianola, who passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at home, will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 28, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Ron was born in Humeston, Iowa on June 26, 1941 to Roy Milton and Alta Enid (Brown) McKnight. He was raised in Warren County and graduated from Indianola High School in 1959. Ron worked at Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. for 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed repairing and restoring classic cars.

Ron was united in marriage to Carol L. (Schrader) McKnight in 1964. To this union two children were born, Rodney Roy and Rhonda Rae.

Ron is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Rodney (Lisa) McKnight and Rhonda (David Williamson) Harban; grandchildren, Brittany (Dylan) Maughan, Joshua McKnight, Nickolas (Madelyn Hetherington) Harban, Nathan Harban and Tyler Harban; great-grandchildren, Tatum, Blayke and Cohen Maughan; brother, Robert (Sharon) McKnight; and a nephew, niece and many cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Alta McKnight and an infant sister, Donna McKnight.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in memory of Ron, to Kiya Koda Humane Society.
