IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Leroy
Leming
October 2, 1946 – June 2, 2016
Ronald LeRoy Leming, 69, left us June 2, 2016 in the comfort of his home in New Virginia, IA. Private burial of cremains will be held at a later date in The Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, IA. Visitation and a celebration of life for friends and family will be held 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 9 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, where family will be present to greet friends. In honor of Ron's carefree life, tropical dress is requested.
Known to his friends in the Des Moines Parrott Head Club as "Ron the Dancing Man", Ronnie loved to have a good time! Though he enjoyed leisure he was not afraid of hard work which he was more than happy to do to help his family have a comfortable life. The majority of his working life was performed at the Des Moines Bulk Mail Center in Urbandale, IA. He retired as a Master Sergeant with the 132nd Fighter Wing of the Iowa Air National Guard after serving in active duty during the Vietnam War. Ron's true joy in his life was the time he spent with his many friends and family members. Though he was in considerable pain towards the end he never complained. Ron was a man who truly did "Walk the Line" and had "True Grit".Survivors include his wife Pam of 49 years; sons Robb (Amy) Leming and Adam (Missy) Leming; his much loved grandchildren Kaitlinn, Nick, and Carter; and brothers Marvin and Ralph. He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Vivian.
Memorials may be given to the Puppy Jake Foundation who provides comfort dogs for veterans. Online condolences may be made at www.overtonfunerals.com.
