Obituary

Due to requirements set forth by the governor and the CDC, private family services for Roland Ray Amos, 91, who passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020, at his home, will be in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Roland was born on February 21, 1929, on the family farm south of Indianola.  He attended Social Plains grade school and graduated from Indianola High School.  He entered the army in 1950 and was united in marriage in 1952 to Joanne Hukill.  After his discharge they moved to a farm west of Indianola where they still live.  Two children blessed their home Rodney and Kathryn.

He loved his home, family, farming and gardening.  He loved to watch the deer, and birds on his farm, his 4-wheel gator and his grandchildren.  Roland was a member of Warren County Farm Bureau; Center Chapel United Methodist Church and was a Director and member of Warren County Oil.

Roland is survived by his wife Joanne of 68 years; children, Rodney (Denise) Amos, Kathryn (Al) Spick; grandchildren, Heather (Chad) Arnold, Matt (Sarah) Amos, Greg (Jennifer) Spick, Katie (Brent) Koller; and eight great-grandchildren and special friend Shanna.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mildred Amos and brother, Harold Dean Amos.
