Roger Frederick Scheurenbrand, 85, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Des Moines VA Hospital Medical Center – Hospice Care.

Roger was born on June 29, 1939, in Mitchell, South Dakota, the adopted son of Frederick and Mabel Scheurenbrand. He served honorably as a Fireman in the United States Navy and continued his commitment to his country by serving in the Army National Guard after his active duty.

On August 24, 1962, Roger was united in marriage to Mary Bogenhagen. Roger's career led him to Des Moines, Iowa, where he was employed with Meredith Corporation for 35 years before retiring. After retirement, Roger and Mary returned to their roots in Mitchell, South Dakota. Roger returned to Indianola in 2023.

Roger is survived by his sons, David Scheurenbrand of Minneapolis, MN, James (Staci) Scheurenbrand of Indianola, IA,  Steven (Jenny) Scheurenbrand of Indianola, IA; grandchildren, Adam Scheurenbrand and Joseph Scheurenbrand; and brother Douglas Scheurenbrand of Prior Lake, MN.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Roger will be laid to rest at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in White Lake, South Dakota.
