Funeral services for Roger L. Casner, 70, of Indianola, who passed away February 6, 2023 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, IA, will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in the IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be held 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to service where family will be present to greet friends.

Roger grew up in Des Moines, IA. He was a son of Walter and Betty (Stewart) Casner. Roger graduated from East High School in 1970. In 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Ramona Samuels. They were blessed with three sons, Ryan, Randy and Rod.

Roger was very dedicated to his family.  While living in South Dakota and Wyoming he enjoyed coaching T-ball and baseball for his young sons and traveling to many of their sporting events.  In 1987 the family moved back to Iowa residing in Indianola.  Roger's hobbies included racing stock cars and camping.  His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Roger worked as an autobody technician for many years before retiring in 2018.

Roger is survived by his wife, Ramona; sons, Ryan (Melissa) and Randy (Lindsey) Casner; grandchildren, Shelby Casner, Georgia Casner, Payten Page, Christian Casner, Blake Casner, Austen Casner and Keira Casner; niece, Sherry Leksell. He is preceded in death by a son, Rod; parents; siblings, Sharon Hutson and Raymond Casner.
